We joined some friends at Cedarburg's Summer Sounds to visit, share some wine, and hear Bascom Hill. The Madison-based band is billed as "Wisconsin's premier pop rock band". Not sure what premier means in this case, but they're definitely a pop rock band. Maybe more rock. At little rootsy at times. The singer kept saying they were an originals band, but they sure played a lot of Beatles covers for an originals band. They did do a nice job with the acoustic "Blackbird". Otherwise, they were a perfectly adequate way to spend an evening in the park.
Afro-Cuban, Latin jazz kinda thing at Summer Sounds in Cedar Creek Park. We had seen this band once before, at Shank Hall. We had made plans to get together with some friends to see a band in the park. The radar showed rain coming, but we hoped it would hold off for a while. It started at the same time they did. Cyn and Pat had a big umbrella. Dennis and I did not. We got soaked. At least it was reasonably warm, and not windy. After a while, we moved back under a pine tree. It helped a bit, and it helped a bit to be standing, but we still ended up leaving a short time later. I think Cyn and Pat (who were relatively dry) were the ones pushing to leave.

Dennis and I were scout leaders together for many years, so this was just like old times. We went on a lot of camping trips where the weather was much worse than this was.
