De La Buena
Aug. 24th, 2007 07:00 pmAfro-Cuban, Latin jazz kinda thing at Summer Sounds in Cedar Creek Park. We had seen this band once before, at Shank Hall. We had made plans to get together with some friends to see a band in the park. The radar showed rain coming, but we hoped it would hold off for a while. It started at the same time they did. Cyn and Pat had a big umbrella. Dennis and I did not. We got soaked. At least it was reasonably warm, and not windy. After a while, we moved back under a pine tree. It helped a bit, and it helped a bit to be standing, but we still ended up leaving a short time later. I think Cyn and Pat (who were relatively dry) were the ones pushing to leave.
Dennis and I were scout leaders together for many years, so this was just like old times. We went on a lot of camping trips where the weather was much worse than this was.
